Limit Password Attempts and Lockdown Time

The Password Protected WordPress Plugin Pro has a feature that lets you customize the security level of your password protection. 

You can choose how many wrong password attempts a user can make before being locked down and how long the lockdown period will last. This feature helps you prevent unauthorized access to your protected content.

How to Access The Limit Password Attempts Feature:

You need the Password Protected WordPress Plugin Pro version to unlock this functionality. If you have installed and activated Password Protected Pro Plugin in your WordPress site, follow these steps:

• Go to the WordPress admin dashboard.

• Click on the Password Protected plugin.

• Navigate to the “Attempt Limitation” sub-tab after clicking the “Security” tab from the navigation tabs. 

Limit Password Attempts:

This option allows you to limit how many wrong password attempts a user can make before being locked down. You can enter the maximum number of attempts in the field. If a user exceeds this limit, they will be locked down for the specified lockout time.

Leave Blank to Disable Limited Password Attempts: 

If you leave this field blank, it will disable the limit on password attempts.

How to Set Lockdown Time:

This option allows you to set the duration of the lockdown period in minutes. You can enter the desired time in the field. 

For example, if you enter “15”, the user will be locked out for 15 minutes after reaching the limit of wrong password attempts.

Default Lockdown Time: 

If you do not specify a lockdown time, the default duration will be 10 minutes.
