Cloudflare Turnstile

With Cloudflare Turnstile support in the Password Protected plugin, you can secure login and password screens with a frictionless, privacy-first captcha solution. Unlike traditional captchas, Turnstile runs silently in the background using smart browser and device checks, blocking bots and spam while giving real users a seamless, puzzle-free experience.

Accessing Turnstile Settings in Password Protected

To set up, log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Password Protected » Security. Then, open the CAPTCHA tab.

Now select the Turnstile from the Captcha settings. Once chosen, the corresponding configuration fields will appear, allowing you to enter your Site Key and Secret Key.

Generating Turnstile Keys

To generate the Site Key and Secret Key, visit Cloudflare Turnstile and click the “Get Started for Free” button to proceed.

  • Sign up for Turnstile using your Google account, Apple account, or simply with your email address.
  • After creating your account, you’ll be redirected to the dashboard where you can configure CAPTCHA for your site. To begin, click on Add Widget.
  • In the Widget name, add a label for the particular Site. This name is for your internal reference and will not be shown to users on the frontend.
  • Add your custom hostname or select from your existing site on Cloudflare.
  • Select the Widget mode you want to implement on your forms: Managed, Non-Interactive, and Invisible. Read more on the different Turnstile widget types
  • In the Pre-clearance settings, you have the option to allow Turnstile to issue a cookie after a user completes the challenge, which stops them from facing repeated prompts from your site’s security protocols.
  • Then, select a clearance level (Interactive, Managed, or Non-interactive), and then click Create to save your changes.
  • Once you’ve completed the setup, Cloudflare Turnstile will generate your Site Key and Secret Key. These keys will be crucial for integrating Turnstile CAPTCHA into your site.

Configuring Turnstile for Your Site

Now, go back to your site. In the Password Protected » Captcha Settings, select Turnstile as the captcha type, then insert the Site Key and Secret Key into their corresponding fields.

Remember: Click Save Changes to apply your settings.
