A Bypass Link for Categories/Taxonomies allows you to provide unrestricted access to specific categories or taxonomies, bypassing password protection. Enable the Bypass Link for the desired category or taxonomy, allowing users to access it without a password. At the same time, the rest of the site remains securely protected.

How to Access and Enable Bypass Link for Categories/Taxonomies:

Before accessing this feature, you must have installed and activated Password Protected Pro. If you’ve already done that, here’s how you can access and enable this functionality:

Go to the WordPress admin dashboard.
Click on the “Password Protected” plugin from the side menu

Choose the “Content Protection” tab located in the upper navigation bar.

In the Taxonomy Protection section, enable the Category protection.

Go to Posts and select Categories.

Enable Password Protection in the settings below and click Save Changes to activate the protection.

Select the Category: Choose the category (e.g., “Data Security”) that you want to protect.
Set the Password: Create a password that users must enter to unlock the protected content on the post or page.
Define the Usage Limit: Choose a password Usage Limit. If you wish to allow unlimited uses, leave this field blank.
Set Expiry Date: Specify an Expiry Date for the password. The password will automatically expire after the selected date.
Manage Password Status: Each password will have a status: Activate, Deactivate, or Expired, clearly showing which passwords are currently active.
Bypass Link: Enable the Bypass Link option to generate an authorized access link, allowing users to access the protected content directly without entering the password.
Redirect To will redirect you to the selected page within the drop-down. Then, click the Save Password button to apply your changed settings.

Then a table will appear showing relevant details, including the generated password and Bypass Link.

When you access the protected Category, you must enter the password.

To access directly, copy the Bypass Link and paste it into your browser. This action will skip the password protection step.

You now have access to the protected category/Taxonomy.

Note: If you enable site-wide password protection and user have already entered the site-wide password, they won’t need to enter the password for protected categories.

Understanding the Protection Levels:

The Password Protected WordPress Plugin Pro offers different levels of protection for your content, including site-wide, global, category, and individual post/page protection. When you have multiple protection levels enabled on your site, it’s essential to understand how they work together.

Password Entry:

If you have more than one protection level configured on your site, such as complete site protection and global post/page protection, users only need to enter the password for the highest protection level.

The order of protection levels is as follows: Site > Global > Category > Individual post/page.
